About Marta
Painting as a language
Marta Maldonado (Málaga, 1967) is a visual artist with a degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid. For more than thirty years she has been creating with passion and with one clear idea: continuous evolution. Her work has been exhibited in Madrid, Paris, Rome, Miami, San Diego, Brussels and Monaco, among other cities, and is held in public and private collections.
She paints to express what perhaps she could not say any other way. She likes to push her limits, try new techniques and let the painting take her to places she does not yet know.
In Marta's words
“To reveal with the eye the ultimate truth, to glimpse what lies behind, what we do not see, to discover something of one's own that was hidden in the labyrinth of sensations and, at last, to be moved. That is what it is about.”

Her painting
A dual perception
Her painting reflects a dual perception. Realist, figurative or abstract, it makes no difference: it is painting with a deep knowledge of its language, without filters, artifice or tricks.
Tactile, rich, exuberant and multifaceted, never entirely defined. A search that converses with limits and borderlands, that invites reflection and leaves questions open, where movement and change give the work its meaning.
